Wigan blow as Kilbane out for six weeks

Kevin Kilbane faces a spell on the sidelines after suffering a fractured cheekbone.

Wigan's Republic of Ireland international sustained the injury during Wigan's 5-0 hammering of Hull on Saturday.

"Killer has a depression on his cheek and you don't need to be a doctor to know it's fractured," said Latics boss Steve Bruce.

"He will have an operation and if all goes well he will be back in around six weeks."
