West Ham goalkeeper Robert Green's form this season warrants an England recall, insists teammate Matthew Upson.

"I think Greeno has been in awesome form all season," Upson said. "He's been outstanding and if he carries on like that, I don't see how (England) can overlook him."

Upson, who has won seven international caps himself, added: "I've no idea why he hasn't been called-up. It's all down to the England manager and the selection process he has, but I can't think why you'd want to keep him out.

"I think if you're in enough squads and not playing I think you get put into a group where you're a squad member and not considered good enough to get into the team.

"Rob's been in a lot of squads but not got many caps, but I think looking at the current goalkeeping situation that we're in that he's doing well enough to play."
