West Ham striker Dean Ashton admits he was disappointed with his performance for England in Sunday's friendly victory against Trinidad & Tobago.
"Personally I probably could have done a little bit better," Ashton said.
"It would have been nice to get a goal, but it wasn't to be. I was pleased with how it went and happy to get 45 minutes."
Ashton was making his debut nearly two years after breaking his ankle during England training.
"It's been a long wait to get that first cap and it feels brilliant," he said. "Nobody can take it away from me, but hopefully I've done enough to impress for the next squad."
