West Ham striker Dean Ashton admits he had to fight to have ex-Hammers physio John Green in charge of his rehabilitation from an ankle injury.

Ashton demanded Green be allowed to oversee his recovery even though he had left Upton Park after a fall-out.

After two ops and a year out, Ashton said: "I insisted on him and some didn't like that."
