West Ham defender James Collins remains a target for West Brom.

The Sunday Mercury says Albion tried to strike a deal to take Welsh international Collins on loan at the start of the season when he was still sidelined by a knee ligament injury.

That move fell through but Collins is now back to full fitness and waiting to see if he has a long-term role to play in the plans of Upton Park boss Gianfranco Zola.
