West Brom are closing in on a deal for Derry City winger Paddy McCourt.

The Birmingham Mail says the Baggies had a bid of around £50,000 rejected by Derry City but the two clubs are expected to reach an agreement soon.

Albion will probably pay a fee for McCourt although the alternative is to wait until his contract runs out at the end of the FAI season in November, which would make him ineligible to play in England until January.
