Viduka: Newcastle must show pride

Newcastle striker Mark Viduka wants to see his team mates playing for their pride.

The Australian international said, "We have to salvage something from the last 13 games. And a lot of that has to be pride.

"I think we can achieve a respectable position.

"When you look at the points situation, we have 39 left to play for with 28 in the bag.

"This has been a funny season with all the changes here, and the form has been up and down.

"We have to now get some positivity and some confidence going, which has been lacking.

"Once we have confidence we can put a run together. It will take time, like it would anywhere.

"He's shown he can do the job here and the fans will stick behind him, I think.

But we need a win because we've been on a tough run. Kevin's influence will start coming across in the last few games of the season.

"And start winning a few games then anything is possible and that's the only way we can look at it."
