"I want to play in every game," the 37 year-old said. "I enjoy playing. That's what we are here for. We are here to play games, not to run about on a training field. We are here to play as many games as possible and to win those games.

"That's what I want to do, but I obviously respect the manager's decision.

"He watches everyone in training and he knows who is ready and who needs a rest. You always want to play and be involved, but, sometimes, the manager knows best."
