Former England coach Terry Venables has been approached to become the next manager of Bulgaria, who are 'waiting for his answer'.
BFU president Borislav Mihaylov confirmed Venables is in the running to be the permanent successor to Hristo Stoichkov, who quit in April.
"I don't want to reveal the names of the foreign coaches we've talked to because we're still negotiating with them," Mihaylov said in The Sun.
"But I can tell you we've held talks with Macedonia coach Srecko Katanec and we're waiting for Terry Venables' answer as well."
