The 31-year-old Young Boys Berne midfielder impressed during the European Championships held on his home turf, which earned him the attention of an unnamed English club.

According to Swiss daily Blick, Yakin has opted for the financial security of Al-Gharafa.

Young Boys spokesman Charles Beuret confirmed that a deal was imminent by stating: "The club (Al-Gharafa) now has to approach us. I assume this will happen in the next few days and then the transfer will take place."
