Surgeon happy with op for West Ham's Bellamy

Dr Ulrike Muschaweck has declared surgery on West Ham striker Craig Bellamy a success.

"The examination showed a so-called sportsman's groin, which I operated on," she told skysports.com.

"The operation allows him to make a quick return to full activity. That means within eight to 12 days he will be back to full activity without any restriction.

"The operation technique was the same technique which I carried out on Michael Owen."
