He said: "I don't know what to feel.
"It was awful but on the other hand it was a big celebration at the end.
"We almost spoiled the night and it was a great night.
"We came back from the death and that was a big positive."
Jol admitted he thought the game was over at 4-1.
He added: "I don't think I've ever been involved in a game like this.
"We could have won it at the end."
Addressing the awful errors that led to Villa's opening two goals, Jol said: "We've tried to do something about it. If there's no leadership, that's a problem."
Jol was surrounded by his players when they equalised and he said: "It's not about me but it was nice to celebrate with them."
He claimed he had not thought any more about his future than he has over the past six weeks.
He said: "I thought about my future for the last six weeks so that's nothing new."
As for his position being under threat, he said: "I don't know. It's not up to me."
