Sears happy with goal on West Ham comeback

Freddie Sears was happy with his goal for West Ham in their friendly victory over Thurrock.

It was the England U19 international's first appearance this preseason and he told whufc.com: "It was good to get on the scoresheet in my first game back for West Ham.

"The match was a good run-out for me, I was able to play out a full 90 minutes. I am feeling good - I played three games in a week for England so another match now has helped me out and with just a few weeks to go before the start of the season, I just want to be involved as much as I can. We have some more pre-season friendlies coming up - so if I can play a part in those games, that means I can work to be as sharp as I can for the start."
