Scotland boss Burley wants Butcher as his No2

Burley, introduced at Hampden Park yesterday as the successor to Alex McLeish, would like his former Ipswich team-mate to help out on a part-time basis, says the Guardian.

Butcher, who was sacked as Brentford's manager last month, was in charge of Motherwell from 2002-06, leading the club to a first Scottish League Cup final in over 50 years, and remains a popular figure in Scotland.
