Roberts welcomes Blackburn's Ince appointment

Jason Roberts has welcomed the appointment of Paul Ince as new Blackburn manager.

He said: "I think black people have shown they can do a job in every facet of the game, on the pitch or off it.

"There is no reason why black people can't work as coaches or for the FA. There is a disproportionately low number of black people working in the game and that is a fact.

"But the appointment of Paul Ince is a positive thing, and it was a long time coming. The club and the manager can be proud.

"It opens the debate about why so many high-profile former players have not been given a chance to manage at this level yet."
