Birmingham City captain Liam Ridgewell has called on the board to make an early managerial appointment.

"I'm sure the chairman and board want to get it done quickly like we do," he said. "We want to meet the new manager and get on with things.

"It's a busy time coming up with some important games as well so the quicker it's resolved the better.

"Of course I'd be happy if Eric got the job," Ridgewell added. "He has been fantastic with the lads, everyone respects him."
