"He did very well as captain last season and the fact he has got a season's experience under his belt was another big plus," Brewster told the Inverness Courier.
"He showed all the leadership qualities you require from a captain and hopefully being given the role again will act as an extra incentive for him continue to do well.
"If I'm being honest, it was a relatively straightforward decision to keep Grant on as captain and I see no reason why he can't do the job as well, it not better, this time round."
