Lee, who has failed to make an impact at the club since arriving in January, has been kicked into touch by the Korean FA for a late-night drinking session during the Asian Cup.

Southgate said: "He is disappointed and upset because he is very proud to play for his country.

"But it doesn't affect anything club-wise as far as I'm concerned. It has gone on when he was away with another coach and team.

"Unfortunately he has got to pay the consequences of it but there won't be any further action from us."
