Ipswich boss Jim Magilton is confident of completing the signing of Newcastle striker Shola Ameobi.

"We have agreed a fee with Newcastle for Shola and he spent yesterday (Monday) at the club having a medical," Magilton told itfc.co.uk.

He added: "We've had a good chat and things are moving on. He will be with us again today and hopefully we can get it all tied up."
