Hughes: Players playing for Blackburn futures

Blackburn boss Mark Hughes has warned his players they're playing for their futures in the remaining games of the season.

Hughes is planning a major summer spending spree and said: "Whenever you put the shirt on you are playing for your place, you are playing for your future, and for your role in the team and in the squad, so that doesn't change.

"Maybe this time of the year focuses players' minds somewhat, but I'm always evaluating players, I'm always questioning their ability, and their motivation, and that happens on a daily basis.

"We are always setting them tests and keeping the standards high, just to make sure they maintain them.

"If they don't then you look to make changes."
