England U21 Pearce impressed by Hearts winger Driver

England U21s face the Republic of Ireland in a European Championship qualifier in February and have lined up further fixtures for March and May of next year.

"It's correct to say that I was at Ibrox to watch Andrew," Pearce told the Daily Mail. "I thought he did very well and it was worth the journey up to Glasgow, that's for sure. But that's all I want to stay about it just now."

Driver moved to Scotland at the age of 11 and has represented his adopted home at schoolboy level, even scoring against England in one match.

However, he cannot represent Scotland at any senior grade because he has no blood relations from north of the border.

That has left him to concentrate his international ambitions on making a breakthrough with England.
