Eck: Birmingham survival rests on psychology

Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish says Premiership survival will be down to the "psychology" of his players.

"More people think about things at this stage of the season. At the start, everybody is fresh and ready to go and you think you can beat anybody," said Eck.

"Then the season evolves and peters out to the winners and the losers. Psychology kicks in at this stage.

"The mental side comes into it, no question. It's like any walk of life. There will be days when you will feel 'I don't know if I can do this'.

"It's about training the mind to prevent these things happening. Fear can show through a mistake or indecision. But I'm not seeing signs of a nervous team at all."
