Derby chairman Adam Pearson says manager Paul Jewell will have one of the biggest transfer budgets in the Championship this summer.

"We are certainly going to be one of the strongest clubs financially in The Championship, with probably the biggest wage bill, if not in the top three," he told the Derby Evening Telegraph.

"That's important because the correlation between wages and success on the pitch, at both levels, is very, very tight now. The more you spend, the more success you get.

"What Paul raises in transfers he can have and then there will be a pot on top."
