Derby boss Billy Davies has confirmed Luton's interest in veteran defender Michael Johnson.

"Luton Town have shown an interest in Michael Johnson, along with one or two other clubs," Davies told the Derby Evening Telegraph.

"There are also discussions taking place with clubs regarding one or two other players possibly moving on.

"We now find ourselves at a particular level and need to look at freshening up the squad.

"Now we are in the Premier League, we have one or two players who find themselves surplus to requirements."
