Daniel de Ridder is determined to win a place in Birmingham City manager Alex McLeish's plans.

"The competition is tough now, but you just have to put up the fight," he said. "I do believe in myself personally. Of course I think I belong in the 16 and I need to prove that to the manager.

"That's what it's all about at this moment for me. I try to do my best and work hard."
