Athletic Bilbao coach Javier Caparros has paid tribute to the board for resisting offers for their best players.

"I know that there are clubs interested in several of my players and I know the president has received offers," said Caparros.

"The club has made a great effort not only to not sell, but also to offer to renew their contracts. So while other clubs sell their players, Athletic tries to secure its future and that says a lot to for the management of this board."
