Burnley boss Cotterill: Unsworth on way

Steve Cotterill celebrated Burnley's 2-1 win over West Brom by announcing the imminent arrival of veteran defender David Unsworth.

The 33-year-old scored the goal which kept Wigan in the Premier League on the final day of last season, and will join the Clarets on a free transfer.

The Turf Moor boss said: "He's going to sign for a year and we're very pleased with that.

"We've been light in that area throughout pre-season and he will bring great experience and great strength to our back four.

"Steven Caldwell went off injured today and in the light of that we're delighted to bring David in.

"He's obviously going to be short of fitness and as you get older, it gets harder.

"But he will bring great experience to the dressing room and we may throw him in at the deep end on Tuesday against Grimsby in the Carling Cup. Hopefully he will swim."
