Stelios Giannakopoulos has explained his motive for kissing ref Howard Webb after scoring Bolton's winner against Derby this week.

The Greek midfielder gave red-faced Webb a peck on the cheek following his last-gasp strike in Wednesday's 1-0 victory.

And Stelios, 33, insists it was a thank-you for bringing him good tidings.

Stelios beamed: "I always score when he's in charge of Bolton's games. He always brings me luck.

"He told me, 'You'll score a goal today'. But when I kissed him, he said, 'Hang on, people are watching'."
