Blackburn's Reid: Florida trip will freshen squad

Blackburn midfielder Steven Reid believes the club's recent week-long trip to Florida will energise the side for the end of the season.

Rovers have not won in their last four attempts, but Reid is confident that the week away will see them get back to winning ways.

"It was nice to get away and recharge the batteries," he told the club's official website.

"In the last few years, we've come back from these sort of trips in good form and kicked on in the last few games of the season, so hopefully we can do that again."

Although away form has been good, the team have often failed to impress at Ewood Park this season, and Reid knows it is important to put that right if they want to play in Europe next term.

"Our home form has been disappointing for long periods this season.

"Our performances seem to be a little bit better away from home at the minute, but if we can kick on again in the last few games of the season then there is no reason why we can't finish in that European spot."

He added: "If you look at the fixtures we've got coming up in the next few weeks, they are all winnable games for us, and we are going to need to if we want to get into Europe."
