Blackburn boss Hughes: Takeover talk won't affect season

Blackburn boss Mark Hughes insists he is unaffected by the ongoing talk regarding a possible takeover at Ewood Park.

Rovers are holding a fresh round of talks over a possible buyout by an American consortium led by Dan Williams but no bid has yet been made.

But Hughes revealed the situation was not affecting the players or himself.

"It does not affect me in any way," he said. "The chairman, John Williams, keeps me informed as much as he can.

"At one point it looked like it may happen then it went very quiet and it now looks that the interest in the club has got greater during the last week.

"On a day-to-day basis, it has not affected me or the players at all.

"A new buyer will have to prove they can come in and move the club forward and, if they cannot prove that, I am sure the trustees of the club will not sell."
