Blackburn boss Hughes confident of big season

Blackburn chief Mark Hughes believes his side have much to look forward to at home and abroad in the coming season.

Hughes is aiming to kick on after finishing 10th in the Premier League and securing a place in the last 32 of the UEFA Cup.

Blackburn are back in Europe's second tier club competition for the second successive year and face MyPa of Finland in the second qualifying round.

"It is a demanding time but an exciting time as well with Premier League and European games coming up," Hughes told BBC Radio Lancashire.

"It is a decent enough draw. The Finnish League is not one of the strongest European leagues.

"We would expect to progress. The only concern, as it was with Vetra, is they were a little bit ahead of us in terms of fitness.

"MyPa are well into their season but hopefully when we meet them we will be up to speed."
