Birmingham boss Alex McLeish is to trial AIK Stockholm midfielder Dulee Johnson.
The Liberia international will spend a week at St Andrews while McLeish considers whether or not to make a move for the player.
AIK sports director Ola Andersson described Johnson as one of the Swedish league's best midfielders and claimed his team have received a number of offers for the 23-year-old who last year was named as the club's player of the season.
"We are in talks with Birmingham and have given Dulee permission to go there for a week," Andersson told Sportbladet.
"He is one of the best midfielders in Allsvenskan and that makes him attractive for other clubs. We rejected offers from a couple of clubs last autumn."
