Birmingham City are chasing West Brom striker Kevin Phillips.
The Championship Player of the Year, 35 next month, has been holding out for a new two-year contract but, with Baggies chairman Jeremy Peace refusing to rubber-stamp the deal, Midlands rivals Blues are ready to step in and grant Phillips his wish.
