Birmingham boss Alex McLeish has confirmed he expects to be busy during the January transfer window as he attempts to keep Blues in the top flight.

McLeish is hoping to add some much-needed experience to what is essentially a young and unproven squad at Premier League level.

He said: "We are trying to do some groundwork now for when the window opens and, the sooner I can get some people in who can help these lads here, the better.

"It will be interesting to see how things develop. How long do you wait? Do people panic and get their buys in now or do you wait until the end of the January window."
