Bentley chasing new Blackburn contract

David Bentley is loving life at Ewood Park and is ready to extend his contract as he feels Mark Hughes has taken Blackburn "to the next level".

The England international only signed an improved deal just over a year ago, but is now reported to be in discussions to commit his future further.

He told Sky Sports News: "I love playing for the manager, I love playing with all the lads that are there and I love the club. It's really enjoyable.

"I'm enjoying my time at Blackburn. You just take each game as it comes because the 90 minutes in football changes everything."

Bentley was delighted to see Mark Hughes remain at Ewood Park, after speculation linking him with the Newcastle vacancy which was eventually filled by Kevin Keegan.

He said: "He's a top manager, he's taken Blackburn to the next level so he's always going to be linked with jobs.

"He's doing a great job with Blackburn."
