Conspiracy? Oxford fears foul play as watch goes missing at West Ham

West Ham defender Reece Oxford has allegedly had a watch stolen from inside the club.

The Mirror reports it has left the Oxford camp convinced that it is part of a plot to force the 19-year-old out of the club, having already been told he has no future at West Ham.

West Ham have launched their own investigation and the police have been called in after the watch given to Oxford by his mother as an 18th birthday present was stolen last Friday.

West Ham have issued a statement: “The Club is aware of an allegation of theft at our Academy headquarters in Chadwell Heath. We are treating the matter extremely seriously in line with internal protocol and co-operating fully with a Police investigation."

But there was no sign of a forced entry and it is believed the watch was taken while all of the academy players were out training and no players were in the changing rooms.
