Fiorentina are denying claims they will hand a posthumous contract to Davide Astori.

It was suggested the Viola would do so in order to support the player's family after his passing on Sunday.

But CONI chief Giovanni Malago insisted: "A news report came out today that concerned the possibility of a renewal of a posthumous contract, but it was a fake news.

"Fiorentina will do something important but it will do so in a confidential way.

"This intervention will not happen."
