Confidant: It's remarkable Cocu agreed Derby move

Dutch pundit Kees Jasma says Phillip Cocu is under no illusions over what is demanded at Derby County.

Jasma is close to the Dutch great, who will replace Frank Lampard as Rams manager with the latter leaving for Chelsea.

Jasma told FOX Sports: “I find it remarkable, because Derby County has had a fantastic year and missed the promotion in the nick of time, but I think not much more is possible at that club. It is difficult for a coach to get in there.

"The Championship is a very tough and difficult competition. It is also called the toughest competition in the world, because they already play 46 games in the competition alone, apart from all the cup competitions in which they have to participate. It's a tough competition and the pressure is great, because they want to go up.

"The club is looking for former footballers," Jansma explained for the choice for Cocu. “Cocu's track record as a footballer is of course undisputed. His name and fame in England is great. It was so with Lampard and so with him. In the beginning they will admire him, we'll be waiting to see how it goes."
