Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson is full of praise for former teammate Philippe Coutinho.

Amid reports that Barcelona midfielder Coutinho wants to return to Liverpool in the summer transfer window and is ready to take a pay-cut, Reds skipper Henderson has hailed the Brazilian.

There has been no indication from the Anfield end that the Reds would want to take back the midfielder who has struggled at Barcelona and spent this season out on loan at Bayern Munich but he still has plenty of admirers in high places around Melwood.

Henderson said in a YouTube interview: “[Philippe] Coutinho So good as a player, technically.

“Again just loved playing football, wanted to be out there enjoying playing football. Such a top player and a great lad as well."
