Robert Warzycha will return to Columbus Crew as head coach next season.

The Crew announced Friday it would exercise its option on Warzycha's contract for the 2011 season.

"I think Robert stepped into one of the toughest circumstances possible in taking over a team that just won a championship," Crew president and general manager Mark McCullers told the Columbus Dispatch. "But he has injected his personality into the team, and we've gotten tremendous results. He's earned the opportunity to continue."

Financial terms of Warzycha's contract have not been made public.
