Columbus Crew winger Bernardo Anor has been named the MLS Player of the Week for Week 3 of the 2014 season.
The 25-year old Venezuelan scored both the Crew's goals as the defeated Philadelphia Union 2-1 at the Crew Stadium on Saturday.
Anor opened the scoring in the 24th minute when he powerfully headed home Federico Higuain's corner before adding a second on the stroke of half-time when he rifled home from 30 yards after receiving a pass from midfielder Will Trapp.
The goals had the Crew in a strong position for the second half and in the end were enough to record a second victory of the campaign despite Leo Fernandes' 62nd minute effort.
Anor joins Real Salt Lake goalkeeper Nick Rimando and Toronto FC striker Jermain Defoe as the MLS Players of the Week so far this season.
