Portland Timbers have taken former Columbus Crew defender Danny O'Rourke on trial.
The 30-year old has been without a club since leaving Crew at the end of the 2013 MLS season but is now training with the Timbers in a bid to win a short-term deal.
Portland head coach Caleb Porter said: "Obviously, he's guy that brings a lot of experience.
"He won an MLS Cup with the Crew. He was a leader on that team. He's another guy that brings a winning mentality.
"We'll give him a chance and then we'll make a decision. Opportunity to get a guy like that in and take a look at him was a no-brainer."
