Manchester United attacker Mateo Mejia has been called up to Colombia's squad for the South American under-20 championships in 2023.
The federation announced the squad last week, with Mejia being included in the group for the first time in his career. The 19-year-old was born in Spain but has Colombian citizenship.
The tournament is being held in his homeland between January 19 and February 12 of next year. It was scheduled to take place in 2021 but was postponed due to the pandemic.
Mejia's Colombia will attempt to win the tournament for a first time since 2013, with the forward having somewhat struggled at United since joining the club in 2019 from Real Zaragoza.
