Liverpool have not yet made an offer for FC Koln's Jonas Hector.

Recent reports have claimed that the Reds had made a £12million approach for the defender but Koln sporting director Jorg Schmadtke has denied that speculation.

Schmadtke was also asking for closer to £24m from any interested clubs if the Bundesliga outfit were to sell the 26-year-old left-back.

"There's nothing in it. There is no question of an offer from Liverpool," he told German newspaper Express.

"If someone comes up with double [the number in question], then I might answer the phone.

"But I believe that Jonas plays in the new season with us."
