Fabricio Coloccini claims his Newcastle colleagues are chasing an unlikely European spot. The Magpies are back into eighth place, five points behind Everton, and European football is still the aim.
"People might say there is not a lot to play for in the rest of the season, but that is not correct. Motivation is never a problem," said the Argentine defender in the Daily Mirror.
"All of us in the dressing room know about Newcastle's history, we are playing for one of the biggest clubs in the country.
"That is what we are fighting for when we go on the pitch."
