Coloccini puts hand up for Newcastle captaincy

Fabricio Coloccini has put his hand up for the Newcastle United captaincy.

Toon boss Chris Hughton is still to name his new skipper.

Coloccini told the Evening Chronicle: "It was a proud honour for me to lead Newcastle out against my old team.

"I enjoyed the experience very much.

"Any player would see the chance to lead Newcastle United out as a privilege and I'm no different.

"If the chance comes along to do it again, I wouldn't say no."
