Collins: Villa success dented by Wales defeat

Aston Villa defender James Collins will captain Wales for the first time tonight.

Villa's £6million centre-back is delighted to get the armband as stand-in for the suspended Craig Bellamy, but his pleasure is muted somewhat with Wales facing a crisis of confidence after three successive defeats and a year of disappointing results.

He said: "Things have gone okay for me since my move to Aston Villa, with some nice results. But all that was dented a bit with my own performance in Finland, I was nowhere near the level I should have been and I will be aiming for a much better performance now.

"But I was disappointed with my role in their second goal, the winner."
