Joe Cole says former Liverpool teammate Fernando Torres will live up to his £50 million price-tag at Chelsea.

Cole played with Torres at Liverpool before the Spaniard's switch to London.

Cole is backing Torres, who scored against Aston Villa, to come good in front of goal. He told the People: "There's so much pressure on him.

"There's the price tag, and bear in mind that Liverpool held on to him for a few months longer when he probably didn't want to be there - that's always difficult.

"Then he has had a difficult run and the spotlight's been on him with everyone doing a Torres Watch ...

"But I saw him the other week against Manchester City and he was different class - and he got two goals against Leicester the previous weekend in the FA Cup. So it will come good for him. "Strikers live on goals and he will be a success at Chelsea.

"The fans are right behind him. They're the people who watch every week and they know what they're seeing."
