Chelsea fullback Ashley Cole insists they deserve credit for the way they fought back last season.
Chelsea finished empty handed, costing manager Carlo Ancelotti his job. But Cole insists second place behind champions Manchester United and no silverware was not a complete disaster.
He said: "At the start of the season we played some good football, some sexy football to be fair.
"When we had that crazy spell, not even a blip, an unheard-of period for any team, everyone wrote us off.
"But please give us credit for coming back and it's an achievement to come second in the Premier League."
