Coca-Cola awarded naming rights for Italian Super Cup

Lega Serie A, the governing body for Italy's top flight, has sold the naming rights for the Italian Super Cup to soft drinks giant Coca-Cola, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/.

The deal, confirmed by the league on Twitter, means that the annual showpiece fixture will be known as the Coca-Cola Supercup.

The length and financial terms of the agreement have not been confirmed.

Coca-Cola will sponsor the event for the first time on 22nd December, when reigning Serie A champions Juventus take on last season's Coppa Italia winners Lazio.

This year's Italian Super Cup is being played in Saudi Arabia for a second consecutive season as part of a deal between Serie A and the country's General Sports Authority (GSA) for three editions of the competition to be held in the gulf nation over five years. Riyadh's King Saud University Stadium is set to host the fixture after it was staged in Jeddah last time around.
